Renata Chlumska

The 31-year-old set out July 4 from Seattle for the 11,600 –mile, 480-day trip and is currently making her way down the West Coast.

Chlumska has summated Mt. Kilimanjaro eight times and has cycled from Nepal to Sweden, but she has never taken a trip like this. Originally, Chlumska planned to paddle around the United States with her fiancée, Goran Kropp, who famously rode from Sweden to Mt. Everest by bike, where he summated without oxygen. He then turned around and rode his bike back to Sweden. Kropp died in a climbing accident in 2002, Chlumska decided to continue with her own trip.
